Neil Krug

Neil Krug is wonderfull in a similar way that Henrik Purienne is, when one looks at their images it is hard not to long. And longing is aspirational. It allows us to assess what is missing-without it we would stagnate and become complicit in a world that needs much rebuilding.

Nostalgia

This is a photo of Michelle Phillips getting her face painted. What i like about it is that she is getting her face painted. What makes these photos engaging and special is that the activities of its protagonists are real, non fabricated. Today we construct fashion shoots and attempt to emulate a time when carefree style was something that simply occurred without pulling tugging and nipping the corners to suggest it. I look at Carly Simon in the street swinging a crochet bag and smiling like a cheshire cat and regret that this naturalism has been lost.
